At Green Lake, Jeremy Dunn is a serious gold and platinumsith. Replete with meticulous bead-setting and engraving, the stunningly detailed bridal pieces he fashions are a seasoned jeweler’s pragmatism at work. Still, he maintains a stealthy pursuit toward a looser side of jewelry – one that’s unkempt and free of the exacting standards placed on pieces commissioned within the shop. His work recently captured the cover page of the popular style magazine, Art Jewelry, where his process of inspiration to fabrication is revealed in full.
An unlikely jewelry designer, Dunn is actually business school grad from Michigan State. It took a few years in the daily grind before he eventually returned to the love of metalwork he originally discovered in high school. After apprenticing with a master platinumsmith in Chicago for several years, Dunn worked his way through the ranks of restoration to fabrication to gemstone setting.
In 2009 Jeremy was awarded the Marion Halfacre Scholarship for gemology to attend the Gemological Institute of America as a Graduate Gemologist where he joined Green Lake thereafter. He is currently designer, as well as a gold and platinumsmith, yet considers himself a perpetual student, learning the finer skills such as hand engraving.
Reflective of his cool Chicagoan sensibilities, Jeremy Dunn’s own website showcases his own line of urban-inspired art jewelry.
